Obsidian is a mineral like glass, often called Volcanic Glass. Discovered by the Roman Explorer Obsidius, it is formed from the rapid cooling of molten lava. Obsidian is found in locations which have experienced rhyolitic eruptions. Different appearances of Obsidian can be found depending on the presence of impurities. Obsidian is thought to provide inner strength and clarity of thoughts. Please remember our semi-precious beads will all include natural inclusions and slight variations of colour. Of course this makes them even more unique as no two semi-precious beads are exactly the same. Approximately 35cm String
